Amputee Groom waited for Wedding Day to Reveal the Secret he Kept for Months: He Can Walk Again
Thirteen years before this day, Kevin Taylor broke his leg. It seemed like an ordinary injury until he developed a debilitating nerve disorder called reflex sympathetic dystrophy syndrome, or RSD.
It was one of the worst cases of RSD his doctors had ever seen. Kevin had to have his leg amputated.
Things weren’t going well for Kevin until he met Kim. He describes their first encounter as a classic case of love at first sight.
Kim didn’t treat Kevin like he was in a wheelchair or had a disability. She says all she noticed was the great man he is inside.
The two were soon engaged to be married, but months before the wedding, Kevin kept a huge secret from her.
The groom-to-be had been going behind her back to do physical therapy. All the work would culminate in something she could never have predicted: Kevin could walk again.
As Kim walks down the aisle, on already one of the best days of her life, suddenly she sees Kevin stand up. He walks toward her and the loving couple holds a tearful embrace. There is nary a dry eye in sight.
