Blagojevich Slams Democrats, Calls Adam Schiff the ‘Elvis of Liars’
Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich delivered a scathing critique of the Democratic Party during a recent interview, accusing its leaders of prioritizing political power over the country’s best interests.
Speaking with Fox News host Jesse Watters on Friday, Blagojevich described the Democratic Party as ethically compromised and said it prefers to support struggling candidates over making difficult but necessary leadership changes.
Blagojevich took particular aim at Senator Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), labeling him as the leading figure in what he described as the Democrats’ “Hall of Fame for Liars.”
Drawing a colorful analogy, Blagojevich said, “If there was a Hall of Fame for liars, like the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Adam Schiff would be Elvis.”
The former governor’s comments were sparked by ongoing debates about President Joe Biden’s fitness for office, especially following recent concerns about his mental sharpness.
Blagojevich argued that Democratic leaders were more interested in holding onto power than addressing those concerns seriously. “They’d rather have a comatose Biden than Kamala Harris,” Watters added, with Blagojevich nodding in agreement.
Blagojevich contended that Democrats could have invoked the 25th Amendment to replace Biden with then–Vice President Kamala Harris, but chose not to for political reasons.
“Maybe we’re better off with a brain-dead Biden as president than her,” he suggested was their reasoning.
The former governor also criticized what he views as the party’s pattern of misinformation, highlighting the disproven claims of Russian collusion against former President Donald Trump.
Blagojevich said, “Nobody who has any common sense could believe anything they say.”
Adam Schiff, often a target of Republican criticism, gained national attention for his role in the Trump impeachment inquiries and investigations into alleged Russian interference.
Critics of Schiff argue that his claims were exaggerated or misleading, while Schiff and his supporters maintain they acted in good faith based on available intelligence.
Blagojevich also drew parallels between his own past legal troubles and Trump’s current legal challenges.
Removed from office in 2008 and later imprisoned on corruption charges, Blagojevich has long maintained that his prosecution was politically motivated.
His prison sentence was commuted by Donald Trump in 2020 after he served eight years.
“I know what they did to me, and I do know they did the same thing to Trump,” Blagojevich said in a previous interview, suggesting that both men have been unfairly targeted by political adversaries.
While his comments have stirred controversy, Blagojevich’s remarks reflect the increasingly polarized nature of American political discourse.
As debates about leadership, party loyalty, and media narratives continue, the former governor remains a vocal critic of what he sees as corruption within the Democratic Party.
