Officer Eric McCombs discovered SweatPea, a malnourished Pit Bull, chained outside in freezing Detroit weather. Shocked by her condition, he rescued her, and she eagerly jumped into his patrol car. Despite her attempts to follow him when leaving the shelter, McCombs couldn’t leave her behind.
Concerned for her well-being, he contacted Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue. With their assistance, SweetPea found a new home with McCombs. Upon arrival, he noticed she lacked basic dog knowledge, unaware of things like dog beds. Today, SweetPea is thriving, wagging her tail happily, thanks to McCombs’ compassion and the support of the rescue organization.
