This Dog has Become a Legend in Town for his Daily Trek to Say “Hello” to Everyone
The big brown dog named Bruno has been walking four miles almost daily to visit the town to say “hello” to everyone. In fact, he’s been the town’s dog for 12 years.
Bruno first appeared on the driveway of Larry and Debbie Lavallee when he was just a puppy and a stray. The couple him in, but they soon discovered the dog had a wandering spirit. He never wanted to be leashed or stay at home.
And when Bruno discovered State Highway 84 leads to town, a whole new world opened up to him. After all, the town was filled with a whole bunch of people to meet and become friends with and they’d give him treats too. He stops by the library and ice cream shop, the city hall and several offices. He’s become such a fixture that the town has named him the town’s dog and ambassador.
Bruno may be getting on in years, but he already has a monument erected in his honor, he means that much to the folks in town. He’s become so much more than a dog to everyone. He’s become family.
While the winters can be cold and the summers can be beautiful, the residents of Longville can count on one thing every single day: Bruno the dog will come walking into town.
