Donald Trump Shares Emotional Update on Melania Following Assassination Attempt
Earlier this week, former President Donald Trump shared with Fox News host Laura Ingraham that his wife, Melania Trump, has been deeply shaken by an assassination attempt on his life.
According to Trump, Melania was watching live when the incident occurred, and it has left her unable to discuss the traumatic event. “She can’t really talk about it, which is OK.
That means she likes me. She loves me,” Trump remarked, reflecting on her distress.
He recalled how she feared the worst when she saw him fall, bloodied after being shot.
The attacker, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was swiftly taken down by a Secret Service counter-sniper team but not before killing a rallygoer and wounding two others, both of whom have since been released from the hospital.
The Secret Service has come under bipartisan scrutiny for security lapses, including failing to secure the rooftop Crooks used to carry out the attack and losing track of him despite prior warnings.
Trump expressed disappointment with the security measures, particularly the lack of coordination with local police.
However, he remains defiant, stating that he will continue to hold outdoor rallies despite the Secret Service’s recommendation to avoid them.
His next rally is set to take place in Butler.
The recent resignation of Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, following intense questioning in a House hearing about these failures, has put new acting Director Ronald Rowe in the spotlight.
The FBI’s investigation has also revealed troubling details about Crooks, including his online searches for mass shootings and other violent acts, adding further complexity to the incident.
This story raises significant concerns about security at high-profile political events and the ongoing challenges faced by protective agencies in preventing such attacks.
