Elon Musk Critiques Biden-Trump Debate, Suggests Possible Manipulation
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk recently shared his thoughts on the debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, suggesting it was merely “political theater.”
On his platform X, Musk responded to venture capitalist David Sacks, stating, “They’re just talking puppets. It was a setup for a switch.”
Sacks expressed his discontent with CNN commentators, remarking, “Watching the CNN commentators put the knife in Biden’s back is actually sickening.
No loyalty. No remorse. It’s just gross.”
Ahead of the debate, Trump surprised some podcast hosts with a compliment for Biden, saying, “I assume he’s gonna be somebody that will be a worthy debater…
I don’t want to underestimate him.” This statement was made during an episode of the “All In” podcast, which features Silicon Valley entrepreneurs.
Trump recalled Biden’s previous debate with Paul Ryan, stating, “He destroyed Paul Ryan. … I’m not underestimating him.”
Meanwhile, CNN political commentator Van Jones warned that a mistake from Biden during the debate could jeopardize his presidency.
Jones emphasized, “If Biden goes out there and messes up, it’s game over.”
Jones further noted the immense pressure on Biden, indicating that successfully debating Trump, whom he referred to as a “runaway train,” would demonstrate Biden’s fitness for the presidency.
After the debate, Biden retreated to Camp David with family to discuss his path forward following a performance that left some Democrats concerned about his reelection prospects.
NBC News reported that while party leaders publicly supported Biden, private discussions revealed doubts about his viability against Trump.
Despite initial concerns, Biden’s family reportedly encouraged him to continue his campaign for reelection, ensuring he remains in the race.
