Elon Musk’s Father Urges Him to Reconcile with Trump Amid Public Feud
Elon Musk’s father, Errol Musk, has stepped into the spotlight, urging his son to make peace with former President Donald Trump following a very public falling-out between the two influential figures.
Speaking to Al Arabiya English on Friday, Errol revealed that he sent Elon a personal message advising him to let the feud “fizzle out.”
“I did send him a message… telling him, make sure this fizzles out,” Errol said, downplaying the conflict as a clash of egos.
“It’s just elephant bulls or alphas having a go at each other,” he added, expressing confidence that the two would “of course” reconcile soon.
The rift escalated when Elon Musk posted — and later deleted — a claim on X (formerly Twitter) suggesting that Donald Trump’s name appeared in FBI files related to Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender. Musk’s now-deleted post read:
“Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”
Legal experts quickly rejected Musk’s explosive claim.
David Schoen, Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal defense attorney before his death, stated unequivocally that Epstein had nothing on Trump.
“I specifically asked him!” Schoen wrote on X, dismissing the allegation entirely.
Trump’s former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, also weighed in during an MSNBC interview, calling the accusation “nonsense” and asserting that, in his extensive experience with Trump, the claim simply wasn’t true.
Despite his son’s actions, Errol Musk described Elon’s outburst as “a silly mistake,” suggesting it was likely caused by the enormous pressure his son has faced in recent months.
“When people have been through a great deal of stress… eventually people reach a point where they lash out,” he said.
“Even at the highest levels, people struggle to find common ground.”
The feud is unfolding as Elon Musk holds an influential role as a special government employee, further complicating the situation.
Still, Errol remains optimistic that the tension will ease soon, characterizing the situation as more spectacle than substance.
Meanwhile, behind the scenes, representatives for both Musk and Trump are reportedly working to ease the conflict.
According to Politico, aides for both sides have been in contact, attempting to cool the situation and prevent further escalation.

“The shaky detente in the social media strife between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk is holding following a call between representatives for both sides,” Politico reported, citing two White House officials.
As of now, Trump has refrained from commenting further about Musk on his Truth Social platform, although sources close to the former president say the future of their relationship remains uncertain.
Despite past tensions between Elon and his father—Elon once publicly referred to Errol as a “terrible human being” in 2017—it appears Errol is now acting as a voice of reason, calling for calm amid a headline-grabbing feud between two powerful personalities.
As Errol Musk summed it up: “This will fizzle out in a few days.”
