Floating Baby Found 1km Out at Sea After Sunbathing Parents Forgot About Her
A ten-month-old baby was rescued after being spotted floating nearly 1km out at sea in an inflatable toy.
Strong winds and ocean currents took Melda Ilgın on a trip that was heading towards the Greek Island of Lesbos. The family were enjoying a day at the beach near the town of Kucukkuyu, in Turkey’s south west coast.
We’re pleased and relieved to say that this story comes with a happy ending, as well as a harsh lesson for the parents on why they should always be mindful of what their daughter is up to.
