Gingrich Sounds Alarm on ‘Dangerous’ Consequences as Democrats Escalate Attacks on Trump

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has issued a stark warning about the growing intensity of attacks against former President Donald Trump, cautioning that Democrats’ actions could lead to serious repercussions for the country.

Democrats in ‘Rage Mode’ with No Solutions

Speaking in an interview with Fox News, Gingrich dismissed claims by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) that Republicans are “on the run.”

Instead, he argued that Democrats are in a state of rage, offering no viable solutions to the nation’s pressing issues.

“The left is becoming increasingly aggressive, resorting to extreme measures in their resistance to Trump.

They are also targeting figures like Elon Musk for his role in challenging government overreach,” Gingrich explained.

He drew historical parallels, citing Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, which emphasized the ongoing test of whether a government “conceived in liberty” can endure.

Gingrich expressed concern that some individuals on the left believe they have the right to disregard laws, undermine the electoral process, and resort to violence to achieve their goals.

“The answer to this lawlessness is straightforward: enforce the law. No exceptions.

When people begin to understand that anarchy will not be tolerated, these extreme tactics will lose momentum,” he added.

A ‘Zombie’ Approach in Congress

Gingrich also criticized House Democrats for their behavior during a recent congressional session, describing them as “zombie Democrats” who refused to applaud even the most uncontroversial moments, such as honoring a young cancer survivor or a student with aspirations to attend West Point.

“It was bizarre. They wouldn’t even acknowledge uplifting moments. Hakeem Jeffries has no choice but to keep up appearances as their leader, but deep down, he must recognize the dysfunction within his party,” Gingrich observed.

The Growing Divide and Public Distrust

Gingrich highlighted recent polling data from the America’s New Majority Project, revealing that 82% of Americans believe the system is corrupt.

This, he warned, is a dangerous sentiment for democracy. He argued that Democrats, by defending entrenched bureaucracies and corruption, will face significant political challenges in upcoming elections.

Political analyst Matt Towery echoed these concerns on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle,” comparing today’s Democratic Party to the failed presidential campaign of George McGovern in 1972. He warned that unless party leaders rein in extremist factions, they risk losing control altogether.

“The Democrats need to shift their focus toward policies that actually benefit Americans. They cannot continue with an anti-Trump strategy alone,” Towery stated.

Democrats Face Growing Internal Challenges

Recent reports from Politico indicate that congressional Democrats are experiencing a historic decline in approval ratings among their own base.

Traditionally, Democratic lawmakers have enjoyed stronger support from their party’s voters compared to their Republican counterparts.

However, following the 2024 presidential election, that trend appears to be reversing.

“For the first time in Quinnipiac University’s annual first-quarter polling, congressional Democrats are now underwater in approval ratings—even among their own voters,” Politico reported.

This dramatic shift signals deep dissatisfaction within the party and raises serious concerns about its ability to maintain unity ahead of critical upcoming elections.

Looking Ahead

As the political landscape continues to shift, Gingrich and other conservative analysts are urging Republicans to stay focused on addressing real issues rather than engaging in endless partisan battles.

With public trust in government at an all-time low, the coming months could prove decisive in shaping the future of both parties.

The question remains: Can Democrats recalibrate their strategy in time, or will their current trajectory lead to further political fallout?
