British actor, beloved for his unforgettable roles in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and Doctor Who, has passed away at the age of 63.
The news was shared by his husband, Tony, through a heartfelt message on the actor’s official social media account.
“Hello everyone. This is Tony, Simon’s husband,” the post read. “I have some very sad news. At 2:50 this afternoon Simon passed away… Thank you.”
Fisher-Becker’s manager, Kim Barry, also confirmed the loss, remembering him not only as a client but as a close personal friend.
“Simon was also a writer, a raconteur and a great public speaker… kind, gracious and interested in everyone.”
Throughout a decades-long career, Simon brought joy to millions.
He was best known to global audiences as the Fat Friar in Harry Potter and the blue-skinned Dorium Maldovar in Doctor Who.
