According to TMZ, Darren passed away peacefully in his sleep at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Monday.

While an official cause of death has not been disclosed, his son, journalist Jim Moret, revealed that Darren had been battling heart issues and was under specialized care in the hospital’s cardiac unit.

Darren was initially admitted for an aortic valve replacement but was considered too weak to undergo the procedure.

He was discharged and later readmitted when his condition worsened.

“I truly believed he’d make it,” said Moret. “He always had this effortless cool about him. That never faded.”
