Jeanine Pirro Announces First Criminal Sentences as Interim U.S. Attorney for D.C.
Jeanine Pirro, former TV host and veteran legal analyst, has officially stepped into her new role as interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia.
Wasting no time in taking action, Pirro marked her first day in office by announcing the sentencing of two men involved in a broad-daylight drive-by shooting near a Washington, D.C. elementary school.
The two defendants, Rasheed Mullins, 27, and Josiah Warfield, 24, were sentenced to lengthy federal prison terms for their roles in the April 2024 attack.
Mullins received a sentence of 90 months, while Warfield was handed 100 months behind bars.
Following their prison terms, both will also face an additional five years of supervised release.
The pair pleaded guilty to assault with intent to commit murder while armed—a serious charge stemming from the alarming incident that put children and residents at risk in a quiet neighborhood.
Pirro’s decisive announcement sends a strong message about her approach to public safety and criminal accountability as she begins her tenure in one of the nation’s most high-profile legal positions.
