Once Again Kelly Clarkson Proves There’s Nothing She Can’t Sing

Kelly Clarkson continues to dazzle us with her extraordinary vocal talent, proving time and again why she’s considered an insanely talented singer. Her recent performance on her talk show, especially during the popular segment Kellyoke, once again left fans in awe. This time, she chose to cover a U2 song, “Pride (In the Name of Love),” and the significance of her choice wasn’t lost on her audience.

“To those unfamiliar with the significance behind her choice to cover this iconic U2 song on Dr. MLK Day, the lyrics in the classic ‘early morning April 4…’ that she sang allude to the tragic events of April 4, 1968, in Memphis, marking the day they ‘took his life.’ Kelly, in every sense, is a true class act.”

Taking into account that January 15 was Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Clarkson’s song selection held special meaning. U2 originally wrote “Pride” in honor of King, making it a poignant and fitting choice for the occasion. Fans were quick to recognize and appreciate the thoughtful selection, with one person eloquently pointing out, “For those who may not understand why she’s covering this iconic song on Dr. MLK Day, the lyrics in this U2 classic, ‘early morning April 4…’ and that entire verse she sang, refer to the day they ‘took his life,’ April 4, 1968, in Memphis. Kelly is a true class act, all the way.” Clarkson’s thoughtful tribute further solidifies her as not just a remarkable singer but also a mindful and respectful artist.
