Queen & Paul Rodgers Deliver a Soul-Stirring Rendition of “Imagine” – A Legacy Rekindled
After Freddie Mercury’s passing in 1991, many believed Queen’s journey had come to an end.
The band honored his legacy with powerful moments—performing with George Michael in 1992, releasing Made in Heaven in 1995, and sharing the stage with Elton John in 1997.
Shortly after, bassist John Deacon retired, and the band stepped back.
But in 2004, Queen found a new spark. Brian May joined legendary singer Paul Rodgers—of Free, Bad Company, and The Firm—at a London tribute concert.
Their chemistry was undeniable. Rodgers was soon invited to perform with Queen at the UK Music Hall of Fame induction, leading to a full-scale collaboration: Queen + Paul Rodgers.
Together, they toured Europe and appeared at Nelson Mandela’s 46664 AIDS-benefit concerts.
One of their most powerful performances?
A heartfelt rendition of John Lennon’s Imagine—a tribute to peace, unity, and timeless music.
