Rescuers Find Muddy “Dog” In A Ditch, But Things Aren’t What They Seem!

When a distressing image circulated online, depicting what appeared to be a trapped dog, concerned individuals swiftly tagged Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue in the UK, renowned for their lifesaving interventions. The viral picture showed a seemingly stranded dog submerged in mud, prompting a flurry of appeals for rescue.

Responding to the urgent call, a dedicated team of volunteers sprang into action, mobilizing to the scene to aid the stranded canine—or so they thought. Little did they know, the object of their rescue wasn’t a living creature at all, but rather a remarkably lifelike dog statue buried in the mire.

Reflecting on the incident, Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue recounted the moment of realization on their Facebook page, expressing relief that no real animal was in jeopardy. As they made their way to the purported rescue site, news arrived that the staff at Thorpe Park had already retrieved the statue, alleviating any potential danger.

Despite the humorous twist of events, commendations poured in for the swift response of the rescue volunteers, emphasizing the importance of acting promptly in perceived emergencies. Grateful for the community’s vigilance, the wildlife rescue extended thanks to all involved in the alert and response.

Now safe and sound outside the rescue’s office, the dog statue awaits its owner’s retrieval. Although the identity of the statue’s owner remains a mystery, a plea is issued for them to reclaim their decor, albeit slightly worse for wear after its muddy ordeal.
