Sunny Hostin Reacts to Election Results — But Did She Really Insult Elon Musk on Live TV?

Following the recent presidential election results, The View co-host Sunny Hostin expressed deep concern over Donald Trump’s return to the White House.

Speaking candidly on-air, Hostin said the outcome left her “profoundly disturbed,” sparking strong reactions across social media.

Hostin and her fellow co-hosts, including Joy Behar, have been outspoken critics of Trump during the campaign, often discussing their support for Vice President Kamala Harris.

On the show, Hostin reflected on how the 2016 election felt unpredictable, but now believes a second Trump administration could bring “almost unfettered power.”

In response to the results, Hostin followed through on her earlier promise to deactivate her account on X (formerly Twitter), citing her opposition to Elon Musk’s ownership of the platform.

She also commented on the rebranding of Twitter to X, calling it “confusing” and expressing disappointment in how the platform has changed.

Around the same time, rumors began circulating online that Hostin had used an offensive term toward Elon Musk on air and that fellow host Joy Behar had issued a public apology.

However, these claims appear to be false. No video evidence or reports from reputable media outlets support the accusation that Hostin insulted Musk during a live broadcast.

Despite the viral headlines, it’s important to separate fact from fiction.

Hostin may have voiced her disagreement with Musk’s actions as the head of X and his recent government appointment as the Chief of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), but there is no verified record of her using inappropriate language or launching a personal attack.

As with all political commentary, tensions run high — but so does the responsibility to report accurately.
