Trump Declares ‘Life Spared to Restore America to Greatness’ in Victory Speech
In a triumphant victory speech at Trump Headquarters early Wednesday morning, Donald J. Trump credited divine intervention for his survival, asserting, “God spared my life for a reason.”
The former president recounted two assassination attempts since July, underscoring the gravity of his campaign journey and his commitment to “restore America to greatness.”
Trump, speaking from West Palm Beach, Florida, reflected on his re-election, vowing to bring renewed energy and dedication to his role.
The first attempt reportedly occurred on July 13 at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where shots fired by a 20-year-old assailant struck Trump’s ear and tragically killed firefighter Corey Comperatore.
Additional attendees were injured in the incident.
Trump resumed his campaign in Butler on October 5, addressing supporters with a renewed focus on immigration and border security.
On September 15, a second attempt unfolded while Trump was golfing in West Palm Beach. Secret Service agents intercepted a man armed with an AK-47 near the Trump International Golf Club, forcing them to quickly escort Trump to safety.
Trump’s victory in Pennsylvania on Tuesday, a critical battleground state, secured his win with over the 270 electoral votes needed for re-election in 2024.
His speech emphasized a shared mission to fulfill his vision for America’s future, pledging to overcome the challenges ahead with “every ounce of energy, spirit, and fight.”
