Vendulka Wichta bares her soul with folk version of “Karma Chameleon”

Australian folk siren Vendulka Wichta bared her soul with a sultry rendition of “Karma Chameleon” by Culture Club on The Voice Australia.

The song’s original singer, Boy George, was in attendance as a judge for the season eight audition and was the first to turn his chair for the 21-year-old singer.

Vendulka sang and played acoustic guitar on the cover, creating an atmospheric slow burn that perfectly showcased her unique, smoky voice.

Her performance captivated the audience and judges alike, with Aussie judges Delta Goodrem and Guy Sebastian quickly following Boy George in turning their chairs.

Goodrem praised Vendulka’s emotive delivery, while Sebastian was particularly impressed by her falsetto vocal gymnastics in the second half of the song.

Vendulka’s rendition not only highlighted her vocal prowess but also brought a fresh, soulful twist to the classic hit, earning her a well-deserved spot in the competition.
