She Gets Yelled At For Giving Coats To The Homeless. Her Response Is Brilliant and Inspiring!
As the founder and CEO of The Empowerment Plan, Veronika Scott helps to empower and employ homeless women. Her Detroit-based non-profit began after she invented a coat that was both self-heating and water resistant. It can also become a sleeping bag, intended for use by the homeless.
After creating the coat, Veronika realized that homeless people are more in need of jobs than they are coats. So, she started her non-profit, The Empowerment Plan. Through the organization, she hires women who are in local shelters as seamstresses who work full time.
