The Los Angeles Times, citing her father Charles Dunn, also reported that Knowings suffered cardiac arrest following the severe asthma attack and spent several days on life support.
She was only 46.
The news was shared publicly by members of her family, including her aunt Tyleah Joseph, who remembered Knowings as an actress, comedian, daughter and twin sister.
She brought something different to All That
Knowings was proud of the perspective she brought to the series.
Born in the Bronx, she described herself as Native American and Afro-Latina and later spoke about how the show’s diverse cast helped introduce cultural perspectives that might otherwise have been overlooked.

After All That, Knowings continued performing, including appearances on Sesame Street alongside her twin brother, Chris Knowings. She also worked in film, including the 2009 movie Mother and Child, and released music later in her career.
She had even spoken fondly about one of her favorite All That characters, Gloria Bankhead, an exaggerated lifestyle personality inspired by Martha Stewart.
