Air India Pilot’s Final Words Revealed After Devastating Crash

Tragedy struck in India when Air India Flight AI171 crashed just moments after takeoff, leaving the nation and the world in shock.

The flight, which departed from Ahmedabad Airport on its way to London Gatwick, carried 242 people on board—including 230 passengers and 12 crew members.

The aircraft, a 12-year-old Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, took off at 1:39 PM local time before disaster unfolded.

In a chilling revelation, the last words of the pilot, Captain Sumeet Sabharwal, have now been made public.

With more than 8,200 hours of flying experience, Captain Sabharwal issued a mayday call shortly after takeoff:

“Mayday… no thrust, losing power, unable to lift…”

Moments later, the plane lost altitude and tragically crashed just 1.5 miles from the runway, landing in the crowded Meghani Nagar area of Gujarat’s Ahmedabad city.

The heartbreaking aftermath has revealed that only one person survived—identified as Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, who was believed to have been sitting in seat 11A. The rest of the passengers and crew have been confirmed deceased.

In an official statement, Air India shared their grief:

“Air India confirms that flight AI171, operating from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick on 12 June 2025, was involved in an accident. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the families and loved ones of all those affected by this devastating event.”

Air India Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran also addressed the tragedy, emphasizing the airline’s focus on supporting affected families and emergency responders:

“We are doing everything in our power to assist the emergency response teams at the site and provide all necessary support and care to those impacted.”

An emergency center has been activated, and dedicated support teams are working closely with authorities to provide assistance to the families of those lost in the crash.
