Billie Eilish breaks unbelievable record as she wins another Best Song Oscar

Billie Eilish has set a new world record for Oscar nominees with her song ‘What Was I Made For?’ as she and her brother Finneas O’Connell clinched their second Academy Award for music. Their previous win was for the Bond theme in “No Time to Die.”

This latest win makes them the youngest songwriting duo to secure more than one Oscar. Specifically, at just 22, Billie Eilish becomes the youngest person ever to win two Oscars. Moreover, they join a select group, including Luise Rainer, Jodie Foster, and Hillary Swank, as only the fourth and fifth individuals to achieve this feat before the age of 30.

The sibling duo delivered a moving performance of ‘What Was I Made For?’ at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Notably, Eilish, who was only 17 when she wrote the Bond theme, also holds the record for the youngest person to pen a Bond song.

Barbie, with its strong musical presence, earned nominations for two original songs: ‘I’m Just Ken’ by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt, and the award-winning ‘What Was I Made For?’. Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of Barbie, featuring Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, and America Ferrara, received a total of nine nominations.
