In the following video, Dion takes the stage for an “impossible” performance with the man she grew up idolizing. Celine spent hours performing her part of the song next to a body double, then the footage of Elvis’ original performance was combined with Celine’s using a technique called rotoscoping, which cuts out Elvis and makes him appear like he’s live on stage to the viewers at home.
When Elvis first performed “If I Can Dream” back in 1968, Celine was just a newborn baby, but as you can see in their virtual duet, great talent transcends time.
