High School BFFs Are Living Their Best “Golden Girls” Life Together In Their 80s.

Longtime friends Elsie Webb, Sylvia Crane, Mary Grace Tassone, and Joan Harris are savoring the golden years together, reminiscent of the iconic Golden Girls. They forged their bonds in high school at Mt. St. Mary’s Academy in Grass Valley, California, graduating between 1953 and 1955. After navigating the joys and challenges of life—marriage, careers, children, and grandparenthood—they find themselves as widows or single residents in the Atria Senior Living community, just down the road from their alma mater.

In this retirement haven, Mary Grace was the pioneer, later joined by the others, completing the quartet in July when Sylvia moved in. United by a shared history, they’ve become each other’s familiar faces, offering comfort and understanding in their later years. Together, they plan to embrace the coming years, relishing nights filled with high school memories, movie nights, and shared love for musicals.
