Meet Luke Thill: The 13-Year-Old Who Built His Own Tiny House from Scratch

While most teens are glued to screens, 13-year-old Luke Thill from Iowa took a different path—he built his own 89-square-foot tiny house in his family’s backyard.

Inspired by boredom and a desire to learn, Luke spent a year saving money by mowing lawns, doing odd jobs, and even bartering labor.

He raised around $1,500 and used 75% recycled materials, including items from his grandmother’s house.

With help from his dad and a family friend, Luke wired the home with electricity.

It now features a loft bed, microwave, TV, and even a BBQ grill out back. Though it doesn’t have plumbing yet, Luke says he loves the minimalist lifestyle.

“I wanted a house without a huge mortgage,” he said.

Luke shares his journey on his YouTube channel, inspiring thousands.

His story is a reminder that with creativity and hard work, even big dreams can fit in small spaces.
