Michael Bublé Reflects on How His Son Noah’s Battle with Cancer Transformed His Life and Perspective
Michael Bublé Opens Up About Son Noah’s Cancer Battle and How It Transformed His Life and Marriage
In an emotional interview with Red magazine, Michael Bublé shared how his son Noah’s fight against hepatoblastoma, a rare liver cancer, profoundly changed his life.
The 47-year-old singer revealed that Noah’s battle, which began when he was just three years old, altered his perspective on life, and even led him to lose the “alter-ego” he had long embraced as a performer.
Noah, now 9, is in remission after undergoing chemotherapy and radiation. Reflecting on this challenging time, Bublé admitted that it reshaped his values and approach to life.
“It changed everything—what mattered to me, how I saw life,”
he said. ” It was a transformative experience that made me rethink my purpose.”
Bublé, who has been married to actress Luisana Lopilato since 2011, also credited their strong marriage for helping him navigate these turbulent times.
He spoke about how their mutual understanding of each other’s needs has been the foundation of their bond.
“We both recognize that fulfilling each other’s needs is the most important thing,” Bublé shared.
As parents to three other children—Elias, Vida, and Cielo—the couple makes family a priority.
Bublé shared that next year, he will take a break from touring to support his wife while she films a movie, echoing their commitment to being there for each other.
“We don’t care what we do—being together is the goal,” he said.
Looking back on his 2018 album, Bublé acknowledged the emotional toll Noah’s diagnosis took on him, which led him to approach the recording process with caution.
“I wasn’t ready to come back mentally,” Bublé admitted.
“I made a safe record, trying to protect myself.”
But now that his family is in a better place, the singer feels re-energized and ready to create music that reflects his new outlook on life.
