Being in the military takes a huge toll on families and this is certainly a prime example of one man missing out on a once in a lifetime experience. On top of that, our men and women know they are going into potentially hostile situations with no guarantees of returning. Dan not only missed the birth of his child, but there was that looming knowledge that he may never be able to hold her.
Dan did return and he was reunited with his now 4-month-old beautiful baby girl. The experience was extremely moving as you’ll see. Filmmaker Ryan Southwell captured the very emotional journey that Dan took to be reunited with the daughter that he had missed being born by only weeks. A wonderful, very patriotic video for sure.
