An elderly couple awakens one morning, nestled in bed after a restful nightās sleep. As the husband reaches out to touch her hand, she recoils, saying, āPlease donāt touch me.ā
Perplexed, he queries, āWhy not?ā Her response is blunt: āBecause Iām deceased.ā Astounded, he argues, āBut weāre both here, conversing in bed.ā
However, she remains steadfast, asserting, āNo, I assure you, I am dead.ā Undeterred, he presses, āHow can you possibly believe that?ā Her reasoning is simple: āBecause when I woke up this morning, I felt no pain.ā
