The incident occurred during a discussion about Musk’s son attending a White House press conference with his father on February 11, where they spoke with President Donald Trump about the DOGE initiative.

The Controversial Comments

Goldberg introduced the topic, saying, “Yesterday Elon Musk took his son X to a press conference,” to which Behar responded with disbelief, questioning, “X?” Goldberg then joked, “I did not name the child, and I don’t want to hear anymore mess about our names,” as the co-hosts laughed together.

Behar continued, making light of Musk’s ownership of X (formerly Twitter), jokingly calling the child “little Instagram” despite Musk having no control over Instagram, which is owned by Meta.

The comments quickly drew criticism online, with many pointing out that mocking a child’s name was inappropriate.
