Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar Criticized for Mocking Elon Musk’s Son’s Name
Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar are facing backlash after making fun of Elon Musk’s youngest son, X Æ A-Xii, on a recent episode of The View.
The incident occurred during a discussion about Musk’s son attending a White House press conference with his father on February 11, where they spoke with President Donald Trump about the DOGE initiative.
The Controversial Comments
Goldberg introduced the topic, saying, “Yesterday Elon Musk took his son X to a press conference,” to which Behar responded with disbelief, questioning, “X?” Goldberg then joked, “I did not name the child, and I don’t want to hear anymore mess about our names,” as the co-hosts laughed together.
Wow… Whoopi just spent multiple minutes making fun of Elon Musk’s son’s name.
Your name is literally WHOOPI.

Behar continued, making light of Musk’s ownership of X (formerly Twitter), jokingly calling the child “little Instagram” despite Musk having no control over Instagram, which is owned by Meta.
Backlash on Social Media
The comments quickly drew criticism online, with many pointing out that mocking a child’s name was inappropriate.
One commenter wrote, “Imagine two people who do not use their real names, right Josephine?
Picking on a child who cannot use a stage name is ridiculous.”
Imagine two people who do not use their real names, right Josephine? Then imagine a black Caryn spelled differently but meaning the same! Picking on a child who cannot use a stage name! You two are so ridiculous how you remain on the air is beyond my understanding!

Others expressed their frustration, stating, “A woman named Whoopi really has no business mocking a kid’s name…” and “Children are off limits you unkind person.”
Hey @ABC?? Have you become this sick and disgusting that you have to attack children now?
