Autistic Man Tries to Sing National Anthem. When He Falters, Audience Steps in with Awesome Gesture.
The National Anthem singer – a man with autism– started out strong, singing for a packed house, but about 40 seconds into the anthem, he starts to giggle. Whatever the reason, the singer began to faulter, but the Fenway Faithful helped him out.
At first, the audience laughs with him. Then they cheer, encouraging him to keep going with his song. Then… something beautiful happens; they began to sing, too.
It starts out with just a few voices, but the song gets louder and louder until the entire audience joins the man in song. He keeps going, hearing their voices, encouraged to keep going on.
It’s a truly beautiful, chilling moment.
